In his early twenties, Marcello became a pattern maker and technical designer at FIMAR, one of Milan’s leading fashion houses, specializing in both ready-to-wear and bespoke garments

A few years later, at the company Mediolanum, which employed a staff of 350, he began to reveal his boundless creativity by presenting more than 30 coat designs at the Cristini di Bergamo fashion show, achieving remarkable success.
In 1962–63, Savini directed the Ever fashion house, with a workforce of 250 employees, creating dozens of designs, many of which were featured in leading magazines of the time.
He later continued his career as a fashion designer at the Baratta fashion house, whose name was internationally renowned as a center of avant-garde tailoring

In 1963, Savini was called to face a challenging yet exciting opportunity that sparked his initiative and adventurous spirit. He moved to Athens with his young wife and their infant daughter to design the fashion collections for Minion
