In the years following the end of the Second World War, Marcello Savini moved to Milan, driven by a strong desire to open himself to the wider world. These were intense, vibrant years, during which he quite literally threw himself into a wide range of artistic experiences.

Young and deeply passionate about every form of art, Savini became involved at a very early age in Milan’s vibrant cultural scene of the time. He enrolled in the Filodrammatici Acting School, experimented with poetry, made his debut in prose, entered the world of theatre and performance, and attended drawing schools.

Savini took part in “Double or Nothing” (“Lascia e Raddoppia”), one of the most popular and influential television quiz shows of the 1950s

"During the television broadcast of “Lascia o raddoppia?” on the 25th of last month, a young and promising actor from the acting school directed by Giuseppe Guerzoni performed a short sketch. Noticing his expressive qualities, we decided to interview him. His name is Marcello Savini: he is tall, dark-haired, and endowed with genuine artistic sensitivity, enough to win the audience’s approval and applause at the fair’s small theater. We would therefore like to draw the attention of our most discerning directors and producers to him. Savini is also the author of a poem in verse and a collection of lyrics soon to be published. We extend our best wishes!"
