Production of D'Après

Since the second half of the 1980s, Savini has dedicated himself to revisiting the works of master draughtsmen from the 15th century  onwards. This has led to a production of drawings, "d'après" or reinterpretations, often free interpretations in a classical form with a twentieth-century sensibility. The drawings are executed in sanguine or with inks made using old  preparation method, Faces of men, figures of women, animals, or angelic beings come back to life amidst the amber ripples of ancient papers, sometimes centuries old.
